Large work in very nice condition, with beautiful frame, 104 cm wide and 95 cm high.

Nicolas Vulpen Wiertz was born in Hilversum. His great-grandfather was Antoine Wiertz. He was a well-known Belgian painter who had a museum named after him in Brussels. He was a student at the Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam, among others. He was also Jan Korthals and Jan Rijlaarsdam a member of the Gooise Schildersvereniging. Due to his many travels, his works were sold worldwide. Including celebrities such as Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. There have been various exhibitions of his work, including in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. He died in 1991 in Aubeterre (Dordogne).
