One of its best cityscapes, in this case the Turfmarkt with the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft in the background. The image is entirely decorated in the style of the 19th century.
The entire painting is inspired by his great example, namely Cornelis Springer.
With this piece, he equals his example.
The lot is framed with a very tasteful, solid wooden frame.

Jan Beekman was born in Rotterdam in 1937. He studied painting at the academy of fine arts. His work was exhibited in the Netherlands and Germany since 1965. He receives much admiration for his classic style and detail of painting.
